Art activism is about overcoming reluctance…
Reluctance is a human condition, not born, but learnt. Evolving from disappointment, humiliation, and failure – real or imagined.
It causes hesitation. Hesitation to make grand plans, chase dreams, speak our minds – take risks. Fear makes us 77-percenters and I don’t know anyone fully exempt from the struggle. To question the worth of whole energy and focus, to pursue something with abandon and absence of inhibition is life’s ongoing in-fight, because to give our all and fail…is to be left with no excuses. No scapegoat.
Excuses and reluctance are roommates. Rommates that will never move out or break their own path. In tandem…they’ll get by. It’s easy to move in with them, it’s cosy too. They suggest reasons why you shouldn’t do…anything.
World Fingerpainting Day is built for Reluctant Artists, Reluctant Creatives and Reluctant Schedule Breakers, and everyone else too.
